Solly Sachs House

by Paragon Architects SA, 2018-2019

Situated on 111 Commissioner Street, the 24,000m² former government department office has been newly renovated to accommodate a new residential typology to the heart of the city. I, along with 2 other team members, was critically involved in the day to day documentation and construction management from start to finish.

ABSA Retail Framework

As part of my internship year, under consistent mentorship, I undertook the role of documenting and managing the renovations of several ABSA branches across Gauteng & Mpumalanga.

Locality Study, Maseru Metropolitan

Personally undertook a study of the local metropolitan area of Maseru, Lesotho for the purposes of understanding in preparation for an unrealized design bid and other future projects.

An ambitious private client, having known my previous experience, approached me to develop a design proposal for the purpose of peaking investor/banking interest. The copyright was handed over to a local professional architect to take forward and oversee.

Final Honours Project, 2017

The second half of my BAS (Hons) journey saw our studio engage in proposals for the relocation of the Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Bioscience from their current location on Jubilee Road, Parktown to the challenging site of the Wits Medical Campus.

The Johannesburg Art Gallery

Honours Thesis Project, 2017

Exploring how an already disconnected example of colonial architecture could integrate into it's current context. In this project I aim to make a case of the importance of art as a driver of social change in the physical context and the Johannesburg Art Gallery provides me that very opportunity.
